Curtain Speech:

Consider This The End

At the end of every play,  a theatre leaves on a “ghost light”

A single light bulb on a stand, burning at the center of an empty stage

It symbolizes hope and readiness,  that the theatre is never truly empty.

That someday, someone will return to the stage.

This track signifies the end of that light.

What happens at the end of something that once was.

Similar to a play, show, or movie, all things, good or bad, must come to an end.

When I wrote this song, my producer, Ian, and I had already finished recording on Witchurch Hill, London.

I moved back to the United States, but I still had something ringing in my head.

A melody I woke up singing.

It reminded me of that bulb.

(One I left burning.)

A couple months later, I flew back to London, returned to that stage, and began work on this record.

Thank you to Ian Barter for intentionally composing and producing this piece for me.

Thank you to Mark Morrison and Scott Shephard at MackLife Records for helping my words reach ears all over the world.

As for ‘Consider This The End,’ it is simply that..

The End.

The bulb is no longer burning.

I’ve turned out the light.
